Taurus Season Embodiment Practices
This year, more than ever, we will want to utilize grounding earth energy during Taurus season. We enter in with a fireball of Mars and Saturn meeting up on April 19th, fueling anything you might have been building- for better or for worse.
Then, (and this is a big one) on April 25th, Uranus, the planet of innovation and change is moving into Gemini. Uranus shifts signs every seven years, so this is a significant. It rules over our nervous system (and so does Gemini!) so you might have already been feeling buzzy in your body and mind.
If you’re following along in my Ritual Planner, you know we are stepping into the heart chakra, where we will be for the next few months.
From my spring/ summer planner:
Taurus: Speaking From The Heart
This month, we are going to say what we mean and mean what we say.
The governing planet of Taurus is Venus, the planet of love. She encourages us to honor our values, relationships and balance. A Taurus- flavored- Venus (since she also rules over Libra) is especially encouraging nurturing to this area of our lives.
Since Taurus rules over our neck and throat, this month we are focusing on what we say and how we express it.
The yogic practice of Satya, or truthfulness, is not only not telling a lie, but speaking with integrity. The Buddhist practice of Right Speech follows these guidelines:
Is it true?
Is it kind?
Is it necessary?
Is it timely?
This is one of your main practices this season. Return to these questions every time you get that little pull on your heart when you know what you are about to say doesn’t feel right.
This perfectly aligns with Uranus moving into Gemini. Gemini rules over our communication. What you say is always powerful, but especially with this transit. Take time to care and align with your body and heart.
Here are some practices to do just that:
Metta, or Loving Kindness meditation is a beautiful Buddhist practice that reminds you to care for everyone like you care for your loved ones. This is going to be a significant practice over the next few months.
Here is a version of Metta called Body Metta. This is loving kindness towards your body:

Some other tips if you are feeling ungrounded:
Eat and drink warm foods/ liquids. This is a very old Ayurvedic tip and I think really works. It feels nourishing and calm.
Physical touch to return to your body. In yoga, there is a practice called nyasa, which means to touch or place attention. I will have some classes in the near future around this, but basically, lovingly place your hands on your body with breath to come back home to yourself. Also, long hugs from loved ones help, too.
Embrace the senses. Taurus is ruled by Venus, which makes it very sensual- not sexual, sensual. Take a bath, smell a flower, eat something delicious, listen to the birds and look at some art. This returns you to your body and will hopefully bring in some joy, too.
Taurus Season Transits
May is gonna be a bit chiller than the previous months of this year, so enjoy the break because it’s gonna get wild again in July.
🦋 April 25th: Uranus Enters Gemini
As mentioned above, this is a big shift that might feel buzzy or uncertain. Grounding practices will be your friend.
🌕 May 1st: Full Moon in Scorpio:
The Moon is in it’s fall in Scorpio, which means that it has to work a bit harder to surf the waves of emotions because it can be more likely to drown in them. Hold your feelings with open palms and let them pass through your fingers. This will likely be intense, but it will also pass.
🌙 May 16th: New Supermoon in Taurus:
This new moon will help you share your boundaries and values in ways you might not have always felt comfortable with. It will give you the strength to hold your own in a loving way.

Here’s to (knowing and) speaking truth with ease and kindness 🕉️
