New Moon in Sagittarius Ritual + December Collective Card Pull
Sweet, Spicy and a Little Weird
Man, change is painful. I don’t know about you, but the past month or so has felt like my body and life are transforming from the inside out. Culturally, we are all feeling the raw sensitivity of reopening an old would. Cosmically, we are entering into a new era. Pluto, the slowest planet, just changed signs. All of the other outer planets will change signs within the next year. To those new to astrology- this is weird and a big deal. Our collective energy is changing. Like a birth, even if you want it, the process kinda sucks.
Enter this New Moon. This New Moon in Sag will hopefully be kinda sweet, kinda spicy and maybe a little unexpected. A New Moon is when the sun and moon are conjunct, or very close to each other (from our perspective). Both being in Sagittarius, our ego (the sun) and our emotions (the moon) might be looking for a new adventure. But, first, you need to unpack a few things. Mercury, our communication will be trine (working constructively with) Chiron, our wounded healer. Both will be in fire signs and both are retrograde, so expect to rehash some old feelings. Venus (your values) will also be trine to Uranus (surprises). Maybe some processing after a big family holiday will shift (or solidify) you values and inspire a new journey- physically, emotionally, or spiritually?
I’m noticing a lot of endings and beginnings in recent weeks, maybe the new moon will give you time to process before beginning that new cycle (or wrapping one up).
Since this New Moon falls at the beginning of a month, I am simultaneously putting out my collective reading.
Card 1: Where we are: Knight of Feet (Pentacles): Moving slow but sustainably. I love this. After burning through some emotional times, maybe now is when we can slow something down, be discerning of what we move towards. This card asks us to put intention into our movement to intentionally go where we actually want to go.
Card 2: What we are calling in: 4 of Hips (Cups) Reversed. We are releasing apathy. We are releasing numbing. We are releasing focusing on anything except what is right in front of us. We have been doing that, but we are calling in a new way.
Card 3: What will be revealed: 6 of Hands (Wands). Recognition for effort. Not that we need to be recognized, and being seen for our growth can be very validating.
Below, I have some practices that will hopefully embody this energy and offer support for this moon. It includes:
A short, guided therapeutic yoga practice
A unique (different from the one above!) tarot spread and guided meditation
A specific ritual to put it all together
